The disdain must really run deep. There’s heavy speculation that suggests Barack Obama is refusing to acknowledge Donald Trump and his historic win and there seems to be a reason behind it. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
It seems as though former President Obama refused to acknowledge President Elect Trump in his remarks about the election which appears to be out of spite.
And of course: a lot of people can’t help but wonder: why would a former president take an election so personal?
Obama wrote on social media today: “Over the last few weeks and through Election Day, millions of Americans cast their votes – not just for president, but for leaders at every level. Now the results are in, and we want to congratulate President Trump and Senator Vance on their victory.”
“This is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues.”
He also added, “Michelle and I could not be prouder of Vice President Harris and Governor Walz – two extraordinary public servants who ran a remarkable campaign.”
But there was no mention of Donald Trump’s name at all. It goes without saying that the internet certainly had a lot to say about it.
Some commented with, “It’s because Trump stole his 4th term from him. He’s been there since 2008, in 2016 he moved across the street to undermine Trump with his cronies he placed in, he ran Joe in 2020 and that was his puppet. We didn’t beat Kamala..we beat him..he was just wearing her wig.”
Another critic wrote, “Obama is a weak, egotistical person. He has no grace or gravitas. He’s like a petulant child that lost recess privileges. I wish him nothing.”
“Showing his true character. He’s just upset he has no one in the Oval Office whose strings he can pull anymore.”
So far Obama himself has not made any additional comments about the matter just yet.
