General Hospital spoilers claim Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) cares about the women in his life — primarily those who are the mothers of his children.
That has always included Ava Jerome (Maura West), even when she’s been less than deserving of it. Sonny doesn’t actually want to see any harm come to Avery Corinthos’ (Grace Scarola) mom.
At the same time, he can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves and he knows he can’t lock Ava up to keep her safe from her own attorney.
Moreover, it’ll look like he’s only complaining to her because he hates his half-brother, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). Is there any chance he can get through to Ava and convince her to steer clear of Ric before it’s too late?
Ava isn’t very keen on taking advice from Sonny about his half-brother. She knows their history isn’t good, and while she wasn’t present for enough of it to judge for herself which one of them may have been in the wrong the most, she’s not even trying to discern whose side to take. She’s already chosen Team Ric.
Sonny tried to warn her not to accept his help as her attorney, but Ava was in dire straits at the time without any legal representation for her custody battle or the criminal charges stacked against her. Besides, the last person she was going to trust was the man who was taking her to court!
Sonny also warned Ava about FBI Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) too though, and she didn’t heed his warning.
He tried to protect her by getting her out of the country before Cates could come after her and she didn’t believe his intentions were pure. Instead, she trusted the guy she was sleeping with who was more comfortable because he too wanted to take Sonny down.
Ava fell for Cates’ idealism and nearly lost her life because of it. We haven’t seen her apologize to Sonny or thank him yet for his kind gesture in trying to save her.
This time around, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is already championing the cause and trying to mitigate any damage that could come out of this arrangement between Ava and Ric. Having Nina echo Sonny’s concerns won’t matter one bit to Ava now that she knows they’ve made peace with each other.
Still, Nina knows better. She was married to Ric for goodness sake! Still, Ava refuses to listen. She seems to have a taste for Nina’s leftovers and doesn’t want to hear from his bitter ex that she shouldn’t trust him beyond letting him be her attorney.
Of course, Nina is the one who linked them in the first place, which is questionable. If she thought the guy was so horrible, why did she recommend him when Ava’s freedom and custody of Avery is on the line? Thus, Ava may not take kindly to any more of Nina’s warnings either.
It sounds like it’s going to be too little too late for Ava. Keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
