Say it isn’t so! Days of Our Lives comings and goings say that actor Brandon Barash, who is best known for his role as Stefan DiMera on the hit Peacock soap, has been fired. And of course, fans want to know the reason why. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
DOOL fans are shocked to hear that Brandon Barash has been let go from the show.
Speaking to Soaps.com in an interview, Brandon said that he was informed that he was let go from the soap seven months ago. As many DOOL fans are already aware of, the soap films six months ahead. His last episode is set to air on October 28th.
Brandon said that when he got that dreaded phone call, it did feel like a gut punch to the stomach.
He said, “I would have to be able to trust them, and I’ve lost that. I’ve lost that ability to trust that team, quite frankly.”
The actor first made his debut on Days of Our Lives back in March of 2019. He replaced actor Tyler Christopher back then as the new Stefan DiMera. Stefan was killed off by Brandon came back as Stefan’s twin brother Jake.
It goes without saying that the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.
Some commented with, “It’s the writers that need to go. Days watcher since 1970, really gotten stupid, I keep hoping it will get better, won’t unless you get better writers. Maybe I will quit expecting better.”
Another critic wrote, “This is so wrong, why. Finally have a storyline..always get rid of good actors. He will be missed. The whole soap is going down hill.”
And then there was this comment as well: “The Gabby that was replaced was the mistake. Stefan’s character has many directions to explore. I might have to stop watching.”
