General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny’s Solution to Carly’s Panic Could Change Everything — Including His Brotherhood with Jason

General Hospital spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) usually knows how to help the women in his life calm down, even though not one of them really appreciates being placated.

But Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) continual tirades over his need for her alibi and the compromising position it’s left her in are growing stale.

Sonny and Carly are ironically both in the same boat. They both want to move on and seem interested in other people, and yet they’re tethered together by this lie that they have coupled back up. With Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) intent on exposing the truth, Sonny seems rather laissez faire about keeping his interest in Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) under wraps.

That’s going to make Carly’s blood boil the more she feels forced to keep her interest in Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) hidden too.

But as Carly melts down and Sonny feels compelled to turn himself in to spare his ex the consequences of lying to the police, it could end up reshaping his relationship with someone else forever — Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Can’t Hack It

If Carly were being completely honest right now, much of her irritation isn’t stemming from the fact that she’s had a private investigator on her tail. Rather, it’s that she can’t live her life freely without intrusion into the most private parts of it.

Despite Jason’s warnings and her own common sense, Carly is ignoring all logic and throwing caution to the wind as she continues to allow Jack to pursue her. But getting involved with a federal agent when she’s supposed to be back together with Sonny doesn’t exactly jive.

So she’s taking her stress out on Sonny instead. This is his fault, after all. But when Sonny follows through and plans to turn himself in, Carly won’t be up to the task of taking over the business again either. So who will?

GH Spoilers Leak Jason Steps Up

We can expect that this go-round will run a bit more smoothly than last time when everyone thought Sonny was dead. With him in prison, it would make the most sense for his right-hand man, Jason, to take the reins of the mob business.

With Jason stepping into this powerful role, will it draw Carly back to him out of obligation or mere attraction? Will she feel inclined to help him maintain his cover as the informal head of the five families, or will she choose to steer clear this time after her last effort to meddle in the business nearly landed her in a cell for life?

If Jason moves into Sonny’s shoes in the business, it could leave Carly feeling like she needs to support him while Sonny is away — even if it’s only temporary while he fights the charges that will mount against him for killing a federal agent.
