She served her purpose when wrenching Glissade from Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), her former mentor and romantic interest, with that phrase being overly generous. Victor fired her because Kyle informed him that she revealed Victor’s role as Glissade’s silent backer.
The Moustache was fed up with Audra and Kyle’s bickering. He told both people to prove they could run the company solo. Shortly thereafter, Kyle relayed confidential information while Audra merely peddled gossip, and she was out.
Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is a good guy. His cousins forgave his duplicity, while Victor still sees him as a lout. That alone should inform any viewers who are sitting on the daytime fence.
If anything, Nate can do better than Audra. She could easily bring him down or, at the very least, create serious heartache and trouble he does not need.
Of course, Audra is outrageously appealing, but her morality begins each day and ends every night with what’s best for herself. That immature mindset reflects a lack of personal growth into her early middle-aged years, with no signs of an epiphany approaching.
Victor took Kyle under his wing years ago when the character Mealor now plays was much younger. Braeden’s character does this in part as a response to Jack mentoring Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Kyle is not seen in the same way that Audra was viewed. Victor likes Kyle and feels sorry for him because of his perceived parental bad luck.
However, the head of Newman Enterprises has a specific business purpose for Kyle. He wants to use him to position Glissade as a rival to Jabot. Once Chancellor is obtained, Victor may or may not believe Kyle is useful. All is transactional in this ruthless business world.
Whether Jack and Jabot will be taken down is an open question. It would be a monumental event if Victor succeeded in sinking the company John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) founded.
Victor’s supposed respect for John included him attacking Jabot in daytime days gone by. Today, with John long in Heaven, Victor sees a relatively easy path to demolishing Jabot.
It is plausible to imagine a scenario where Jabot becomes Newman’s property, and Kyle is installed as its head. But that would represent an enormous plot shift with long-lasting implications for Genoa City, Wisconsin, and its two leading families.
