There’s a good reason why everyone has heard Kelly Monaco’s name repeatedly these last several weeks.
That’s because the General Hospital star, who is best known for her role as Sam McCall on the hit ABC soap, has become very controversial.
It was announced in August that Kelly Monaco has been fired from the show.
Of course, the real reason why Kelly Monaco was let go from the show has not been revealed, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from wondering what is really going on behind closed doors.
Even though she’s had minor parts on shows like Baywatch back in the late 1990s, Spring City, and Football Wives, she became a household name thanks to her role on General Hospital.
That’s why so many of her fans are absolutely livid that she is being treated the way that she has by the show’s frontrunners. They still want to know why she’s being let go of the show and worse, why her character Sam is being killed off, too.
However, there was one report that said General Hospital fans are passionately campaigning in the hopes that the soap will keep Kelly Monaco on the show.
A new Change.org petition, which almost has 15,000 signatures and counting, reads: “Many fans of General Hospital have grown up watching this iconic show. Sam McCall, masterfully portrayed by Kelly Monaco for over 2 decades, has woven herself into the fabric of our daily lives, becoming a beloved figure on screen.”
There’s heavy speculation on social media that suggests Kelly Monaco might already have some work lined up.
That’s because there are rumors on social media that suggest Kelly might be working on a new documentary about her ex-boyfriend Billy Miller for the online streamer Hulu.
Kelly is going to focus on keeping as professional as possible while also telling Billy’s story.
So far the actress herself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.

I really am not concerned about her leaving, the show hopefully will go on, many great actors are on the show.
Controversial? I wouldn't say that. She seems to be pretty private about her personal life, and now about whatever is going on BTS on GH. Just because someone isn't shooting their mouth off all over social media, doesn't make them "controversial".
