Young and the Restless Spoilers: Forget A Shick Reunion – 3 Reasons Why Billy & Sharon Should Hook Up

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint the tides are changing in the land of Genoa City, and romance may be in the air come the fall.

Right now, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is embroiled in a storyline with her darker self and her feelings around losing Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) all those years ago.

Still, it does look as if this arc could climax during the week of September 23-27, so once Sharon heals from this latest trauma, it would be great to finally see her in a romance again.

While all arrows seem to be pointing toward a Shick reunion, as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is leading the pack to ensure Sharon doesn’t hurt herself or someone else, could another man emerge from the shadows to give Ms. Newman the relationship she’s been waiting for?

Y&R Spoilers: Reason #1 – They Have Chemistry

Y&R spoilers remind fans that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was a part of Sharon’s odd dream episode back in January. As fans may recall, everyone involved in that show had a link to Sharon and Shick in some way, except for Billy.

Some viewers wondered if the show was foreshadowing some sort of possible romance between the two, as they had some interesting encounters in the dream, and there were some sparks flying – despite the dream implying Sharon’s longing to reunite with Nick. Billy almost played the narrator in her dream, so what exactly was the reason behind that?

Sharon and Billy had a sizzling one-night stand back in 2009 when the late and great Billy Miller was in the role. The characters smoked up the screen back then, so it would be very interesting to see the chemistry between the two, today.

Y&R Spoilers: Reason #2 – They Both Understand The Pain Of Losing A Child

Much like Sharon, Billy understands the loss of a parent losing their child. In addition, he’s been plagued with guilt over the years because of Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) death.

Off the cusp of her current storyline, entering a relationship with Billy might offer a unique and cathartic experience. Plus, Billy knows and understands mental health struggles and is an advocate to break stigmas.

In addition, Billy could be dealing with his own dark side resurfacing. He’s dealing with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) cheating on him for a second time with the man behind his daughter’s passing, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Not to mention Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) waiting in the wings to snag Abbott-Chancellor right from under him.

Y&R Spoilers: Reason #3 – Both Billy & Sharon Need A Fresh Romantic Chapter

As of late, Billy seems to be bouncing from ex to ex, giving his relationship with Chelsea another try, and flirting with disaster by hiring another ex, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

While Shick fans may want to see Sharon with Nick, if it hasn’t been able to work so far, what makes anyone think it’ll work now? The same could said about Chelly and Philly (although Phyllis and Billy only tried at a relationship, once).

It’s interesting, because Billy and Sharon have been in each other’s orbits for years now, so could circumstance and opportunity finally spark a romance between the two?
