Let’s just say that no one is giving up on their beloved Sam McCall.
There’s a new report that says General Hospital fans are passionately campaigning in the hopes that the soap will keep Kelly Monaco on the show.
As many people already know by now, it’s been reported that Kelly has been fired from General Hospital and that her character Sam McCall, will soon be killed off.
And of course, fans are incredibly angry over the situation. A new Change.org petition, which almost has 15,000 signatures and counting, reads: “Many fans of General Hospital have grown up watching this iconic show. Sam McCall, masterfully portrayed by Kelly Monaco for over 2 decades, has woven herself into the fabric of our daily lives, becoming a beloved figure on screen.”
“Now, Kelly has been blindsided and fired after 21 years.”
“The thought of General Hospital without Sam’s character is not just disappointing, it is unthinkable for the loyal audience.”
“Her departure would strip the show of its core, disorienting many longtime viewers who have followed her storylines for years. Sam McCall is more than just a character to us, she represents a part of our own lives – triumphs, hardships, love, and loss.”
“Without Kelly Monaco, this character’s journey abruptly ends, leaving her viewers with an incomplete story and void that can’t be filled.”
So far Kelly Monaco herself has not made any comments about the decision that was made about her future, but it’s also been said that she has been left completely blindsided by it all, too.
Now, whether or not the producers will change their minds and keep Kelly on the show remains to be seen, but it’s doubtful that they will. It seems like a final decision has already been made. But then again, you just never know what will happen in the world of soaps.

Kelly is a great actress and her get fired is not a good thing. I will think twice about watching
Keep Kelly on the show!! Without her, it just seems wrong
What is going with these writers? Their storylines are getting too chaotic. Ditch the Willow /Drew story. There is no chemistry there and Drew is not a nice person. How about Jack and Carly? Jack is growing on me .

I have been watching GH since the beginning and I have seen actor/actresses fired from the show but Kelly Monaco is a asset to the show. Its not a good thing firing her after 21 yrs and you keep actors/actresses on that don't really belong on it and they should be let go not the good ones. Please reconsider and keep Kelly Monaco on the show.
I have been watching General Hospital more than sixty years. I am so disappointed in the direction the writers have taken it, I don’t care if I watch it any longer. Killing off characters, replacing characters, I no longer enjoy General Hospital or look forward to my afternoon entertainment. It just makes me sad that a once enjoyable show has been unnecessarily ruined.
Time for a change. Her character has gotten boring and bland. She doesn't even sound the same.
I have grown up with Sam. She has been my favorite since day one I would find it disrespectful if I continued watching GH knowing how they blindsided her and KILLED her off. I will miss Kelly but I won’t miss the falling of General Hospital. #IStandWithKelly
I agree. The Sam McCall character is unique and useful for so many storylines. It’s the evolution of a character like that keeps us watching. Despite all the strong older women on the show, there would be a hole without Sam and this latest chapter of her parenting her teens has been anothe opportunity for her. There were times when I watched for Sam above all others. It would be a little cheesy to put her coma after hitting her head on a rock while diving for the gun but it would hold the door open!!!!! Don’t kill Sam or replace Kelly to keep her alive. Just disappear her somehow leaving so much potential for the future. If you have to fire Kelly, ok, it’s hard but killing Sam is a dealbreaker!!!
