The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates for Monday, September 2 reveal someone calls someone’s bluff, someone puts someone on notice, and another Genoa City resident blameshifts!
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) calls someone’s bluff, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) puts someone on notice, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) blameshifts.
As Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic)steps into Society, Victor beckons him over; Nate feels there’s nothing worth discussing, but Victor insists he’s a courageous individual.
He persuades Nate to sit down and starts probing him about his role at Winters-Nate proudly shares that he and Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) are producing some of their finest work.
Victor, ever the strategist, points out this likely leaves little room for a personal life and brings up his previous request for Nate to persuade Lily to come back to Winters.
Hastings responds that he doesn’t simply follow orders. He believes Lily deserves the freedom to make her own choices-Victor can’t help but laugh, recalling how Nate once tried to send him to the hospital and take over his company.
Over a cup of tea, Lily and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) fondly recall their times with Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), but soon the discussion turns to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Nikki expresses her concern that Lily isn’t letting Billy affect her too deeply; she states she won’t allow Billy to obstruct her path, feeling more inspired than ever to honor Katherine’s legacy.
Nikki hopes that’s true, having seen the destructive side of Billy-just then, Billy walks in and heads straight for them-Nikki then excuses herself and makes her way to the door.
Almost instantly, a heated argument breaks out between Lily and Billy over her termination; Lily stands firm, while Billy claims she has no grounds to fight back. They hurl accusations of betrayal at each other, and Lily warns him that he will regret this confrontation before she storms off.
Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) are enjoying a sunny day at the park with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) when the sound of the ice cream truck catches Adam’s attention.
He sends Connor off to get some ice cream, but as soon as the boy leaves, Adam drops a bombshell: Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has broken up with him. He blames Chelsea for this, suggesting her guilty feelings are to blame.
Chelsea quickly defends herself, insisting that the truth would have come out no matter what. Adam, however, believes he had Sally convinced otherwise.
