The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates for Wednesday, August 28 tease worried parents, forgiveness sought, and a confession forced! Jack and Diane Abbott (Peter Bergman, Susan Walters) worry over Kyle Abbott, (Michael Mealor) Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) seeks forgiveness and a confession is forced from Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)!
At the Abbott home, Diane and Jack discuss their jobs after talking about the incident with Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).
Diane mentions that some coworkers are questioning her presence and wonders if Kyle started that rumor. Jack agrees it could be true, especially after his last meeting with Kyle, and shares how painful that was for him.
Diane worries that she might be the cause of Kyle’s problems, but Jack reassures her, saying he and Kyle have different views. Jack believes there are deeper issues with Kyle beyond just Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) influence.
Diane believes that Kyle has never truly forgiven her for pretending to die and feels terrible even admitting this. Tears flow as she realizes the pain she caused him-her choices were selfish and hurtful.
Jack is uneasy about the direction of the conversation as she says they were once very close, but she left him behind. As she reflects on this, she understands it might be why Kyle is so angry. They agree that their first step should be to bring Victor down a peg or two.
At Crimson Lights, Chelsea asks Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) for forgiveness, but he isn’t sure if he can give it; She realizes sorry doesn’t mean much after hurting him so badly. She anticipated this moment the instant she made her mistake and chose to keep it hidden to avoid hurting him.
She struggles to understand how it all went wrong-“Do you have any answers?” he questions; she responds that he saved her-he would do it all again, but this situation is different.
She disagrees, wanting to bring him peace and tears fill her eyes as she wonders if she should give him some space. He prefers to talk about it.
In the condo, Adam is sitting and drinking when Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) rushes down the stairs with an overnight bag-he stops her and pleads with her not to go. He fears that if she leaves, he might never see her again.
Sally is shocked that he is focusing on himself-he insists he isn’t, but then says he can’t bear to lose her; Sally shouts, “Oh my God, that’s unbelievable.”
She recalls the moments when she expressed her fear of losing him and he remembers that. She tells him she was scared to bring up the anniversary of their daughter’s death-he has been shielding himself, focusing on his pride.
He insists he was just trying to act like it never happened; he holds his head, realizing how silly it sounds to her. She continues to shout about his dishonesty, but he believes they can overcome this.
“Don’t you dare compare our daughter’s death to your selfish and reckless actions; ”Adam replies that he isn’t doing that, but she questions if he could be any more low.
He says he would never downplay Ava’s death. He talks about how he thought he was doing what was right for her but ended up pushing her away.
