Adam is an easy fall guy based on all that’s happened between them, with the cover-up of Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) accidental death creating permanent tension between both men.

Adam is Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) father. That is the tie that binds Chelsea to Adam, or at least that is what Billy and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) convinced themselves to believe.

The incident in Baltimore, Maryland, was not able to be contained. Chelsea’s guilt forced her to tell Billy what happened finally. He’s been pressing her to unburden herself, and that effort worked.

The sharp encounter at Adam and Sally’s condominium let Billy release some emotion that he carried from his screaming session at Chancellor Park. Yet, Adam was merely the frontman.

Billy and Chelsea reestablished trust, most unusually. He saved her from almost jumping off a building during a period when she was struggling with mental stability.

In the recent past, a film noir-like storyline had Billy break from reality by projecting a second personality type. Some of those sequences were shot in black and white and also included visions of a grown Delia talking with her father.

Tagged as a screw-up for years and belittled with the term Billy-boy by Victor, Billy is determined to prove everyone wrong. Part of that quest includes his re-do with Chelsea, proving that he can forgive someone who conned him into having his child, Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind).

Viewers know that Victor paid Egan’s character to exact that ruse. So, Adam is also fully looped into not falling far from Victor’s rotten tree.

Chelsea is not currently in love with Adam. While she does care about him, their connection is based on Connor.

Billy wants to believe the above is true. But anyone can sympathize or empathize with him. He was wronged and needs to decide if there is a path forward with Chelsea.

She is a good soul who cares deeply for Billy and loves her son. Hopefully, this good couple will not be split by that one impulsive night in Baltimore. Much drama needs to play out before any conclusions will be reached as this compelling storyline unfolds.
