When Victor encourages Kyle to seek out a new nanny, Kyle will wonder if that means he’s supposed to let Claire go. Victor, keen to avoid hurting Claire’s feelings, may suggest that Kyle can approach the situation with sensitivity.
While Victor might not label it as a termination, he will certainly want Claire to step away from her babysitting role and return to the Newman family business. With Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) poised to discuss a new joint custody arrangement in the episode airing on August 26, Kyle could leverage this situation to his benefit.
He might propose that he’s making an effort to avoid unilateral decisions and is correcting his previous choice to hire Claire. It’s possible that Kyle will even suggest that changing the nanny is part of the new agreement.
He could highlight how Claire’s role has created friction with Summer and argue that he wants to eliminate any obstacles to the cousins’ relationship.
