This could have been the reason why the royal life didn’t work out for her in the way that she had hoped.
There’s a new report that suggest the Duchess of Sussex sure does miss certain aspects of the royal life that she left behind but would only return to it if she had an opportunity to monetize from her work.
In fact, one source close to the situation says that while both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being criticized for going on quasi-like royal tours to countries like Nigeria and Colombia, they do see opportunities in these trips even though they are not considered to be full-time working royals anymore.
That’s mostly because they get to “cherry pick” the jobs that they want to do, rather than have the monarchy tell them what ot do.
And while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might not be getting paid for the trips they are taking right now, they are still banking on them in different ways. That’s something Meghan wouldn’t be able to do if she still lived behind closed palace doors.
The insider put it this way, “Also, unfortunately Meghan has commercialized what she does – they get paid, and paid handsomely.”
“They may not get paid for Colombia, or their pseudo-royal tour to Nigeria, but they’re using their brand to rake in a lot of money – selling commercial products, doing set deals with the likes of Netflix.”
“Meghan may yearn for a royal life, but she seems to only want to do things if she’s paid for them.”
In other words, it sounds like the Duchess of Sussex only cares about making money. Now, whether or not she will continue to profit from her work while still retaining her royal title remains to be seen.
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the matter just yet. Watch this space.
