Another day, another controversial statement from none other than JD Vance.
This time around the vice presidential candidate is getting dragged on the internet for saying that the “whole purpose” for the postmenopausal female is to raise grandchildren. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
JD Vance is once again rubbing some people the wrong way with his comments.
In an interview from 2020, JD Vance agrees with a podcast host who says having grandmothers help raise children is “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female.”
He also agrees when the host says grandparents helping raise children is a “weird, unadvertised feature of marrying an Indian woman.”
It goes without saying that the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some have even commented with, “I mean, thank you, JD Vance, for helping out the Harris-Walz campaign so much, I guess? The jokes literally write themselves, and several of them do find their way onto the H/W social media.”
Another critic wrote, “I keep thinking about JV Vance’s position as 2nd in line and, if we all don’t vote and (ugh!) Trump gets into power again, then Vance the Bearded Palin would be one cheeseburger away from becoming president. Yeah. The joke would be on us, if that happened.”
And there was this comment as well: “Just to be clear, the podcast host is the one who was saying those creepy quotes. Vance did not say them. He just went along with it though and agreed.”
“The next few months are going to be full of misinformation, and it helps no one to spread it.”
So far JD Vance has not made any comments about the matter so far. But then again, a lot of the controversial statements that are being brought up are ones that he supposedly said years ago. He might not have even remembered making his comments in the podcast, either.

What is the big deal? It is a fact of life that women go thru menopause. Once that happens, they are no longer able to bear children. Once the children they DO have are out of the house, many of them help their children and their spouse with the raising of the grandchildren. It is pretty much the natural course of things in a human family. (And actually in all sorts of primate families). You seem to be reaching awfully hard fir something to criticise the VP candidate. Surely you can find something that is less of an obvious statement of fact.
