justify;”>If you’ve been keeping up with the latest developments on Days of Our Lives then you’ll know that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) are producing a soap together.
justify;”>How very… meta. Currently, they are looking for a new head writer because the scripts just aren’t… giving. They are steeped in melodrama and while that isn’t uncommon for the genre at all, something about this was just over the absolute top, or at least the scene was that Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) performed for his audition, an audition where the choice was made to play the character as a cross-dresser.
justify;”>That wasn’t the issue, the issue was Leo’s acting and just how overwrought the entire scene was. Both Kate and Abe did their best Simon Cowell impressions when it came to critiquing Leo’s work.

justify;”>When did Leo start… acting? Granted, he used to be a con-artist and a former sex worker, which, I guess prepared him to take on various different “roles”, but could that really be called true acting?

justify;”>One would think that would be kind of insulting to the profession at large, but then back in Shakespeare’s days actors were really looked down upon, so perhaps they’re trying to channel a bit of that energy here.
justify;”>When it comes to Salem, aside from the villains, no one is really looked down upon more than Leo Stark, he hasn’t really done himself any favors in the community at all and has been embroiled in some kind of controversy from day one.
justify;”>This is kind of tame, to be honest… even if it does make one cringe.

justify;”>Okay, we know he co-owns the Spectator, but does that really qualify him as a writer? Has he actually written things? (We’re talking about things that have actually been mentioned in Salem.)

justify;”>However considering how he had everyone convinced it was someone else, maybe he is just that good and convincing of a writer, but I have my doubts and it looks like Abe and Kate ha e theirs too.

justify;”>Therein lies the question. You can tell that both Abe and Kate want this project to succeed, and they’ve already gotten Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) to play one of the roles in question.
justify;”>One does wonder how Hattie will react to Leo, a biological man, playing a female lead opposite her. However, Hattie has been in prison before and it is rumored that prisoners are generally pretty accepting of the LGBTQIA community as a whole, so she might be okay with it.
justify;”>She might be taken a bit off-guard at first though and no one could blame her for laughing out right. It seems that this whole thing might come down to a budgeting issue and that is where Leo would come in handy, being an unknown and all.
justify;”>However, it’s not like he isn’t used to the finer things, after all he did successfully chase a Kiriakis for awhile. But all that aside, can he truly pull one out for Kate and Abe or should he get voted off the proverbial island?
