While casting news and announcements usually bring a lot of excitement for soap opera, a lot of them can’t help but raise an eyebrow over this one.
The Bold and the Beautiful has announced that General Hospital alumni Rebecca Buding will be joining the show as her new character, Taylor Hayes. Taylor was last played by actress Krista Allen.
And while there’s no doubt that a lot of people are excited to see Rebecca back on the small screen, many of them are confused as to why she would take this role.
That’s because she looks like she’s too young to play Taylor, who is Steffy Forrester’s mother. In fact, Taylor and Steffy are now going to look like they are the same age!
It goes without saying that many The Bold and the Beautiful fans and critics alike sure did have a lot to say about the new casting on social media.
Some even commented with, “Oh you’ve got to be kidding. Why bring her back? Why not Thorne, Rick, Kristen, Felicia, Massimo, Nick, or Sheila’s daughter Diana ? All would be more interesting than Taylor.”
“Who makes these decisions? Here we go again with this crap of Ridge, Brook, and Taylor.”
Another critic wrote, “She’s a great actress but to her credit, she looks way too young to be the mother of Steffy. She looks more like her older sister than anything else. If the character was brought back just to rehash Brooke/Ridge/Taylor, they’ve lost this viewer.”
“That’s nice but I’d rather have Thomas back onscreen! It would be great to see Thomas and nunuTaylor. Please bring Thomas back!”
And then there was this comment as well: “I’m sure she’s a lovely person and actress, but she’s way too young to be playing Taylor.”
“Taylor is in her early sixties by now, she came on the scene with two medical specializations under the belt and had the time to work up a reputation. That means she had to be at least 35.”
Of course, The Bold and the Beautiful fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next!

Yes...Taylor Hayes is way too young for tor the role of Steffy and Thomas' mother. Two GROWN GROWN Grownups....not children. She's to close to there age and looks as young or younger. Seriously, we are supposed to think of her as Steffy's mother and not a friend or rival. I can't watch.
