There’s heavy speculation suggesting that the Prince of Wales is thinking twice before making his final decision about coming to New York for this year’s Earthshot summit.

According to reports, the 15 finalists for this year’s award are supposed to be announced at the summit. It’s also been said that Kate Middleton will most likely not go because of her ongoing cancer treatment.

The actual ceremony will take place in Cape Town, South Africa this year.

That said though, Prince William is worried that he won’t get the reception that he would like to have in a city like New York City. And he might be right about that, too.

Some royal fans and critics alike have even commented on the matter with, “No thanks. We don’t want him in NY.”

Will Prince William Head To New York City?

“If it’s anything like last year’s summit, it will be a 3-hour affair – one hour for lunch, an hour of panel discussions, and an hour for 2 breakout sessions.”

Another critic wrote rather sarcastically, “The Sussexes visited nyc more than once so William will visit nyc more than once. He has to put his mark on America. Hopefully when he runs in Central Park this time people will actually see him.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I almost feel bad for him in terms of how desperately he wants to be taken seriously on the world stage.”

“And the fact that Earthshot promotes environmentalism by having the awards shows in a different country each year so William has to fly to Singapore or South Africa tells you how seriously he takes environmentalism.”

So far Prince William himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
