We knew that he liked to go low, but we never thought he’d actually go this low. There’s a new report that says Donald Trump has just said something rather disgusting about Kamala Harris. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
While in Chicago this week, the former president got into a rather heated debate with journalists at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.
At one point, Trump talked about his opponent, Kamala Harris, and suggested that she only started to act like she was ‘Black’ because she wants to tap into a certain demographic.
As many readers know, Kamala Harris is Indian American and Black.
Trump said, “I’ve known her a long time, indirectly. And she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage.”
“I did not know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black.”
He also added, “I respect either one but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden, she made a turn and … she became Black. … Somebody should look into that, too.”
“Is she Indian or is she Black?” he asked.
According to NBC news, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, responded to Donald Trump’s comments.
She said, “As a person of color — as a Black woman who is in this position that is standing before you at this podium, behind this lectern — what he just said, what you just read out to me is repulsive. It’s insulting. And you know, no one has any right to tell someone who they are, how they identify. That is no one’s right.”
So far Donald Trump himself has not made any comments about the matter and nor did Kamala Harris comment, either. We will definitely update you with all of the latest details once they come in.
