Kelly Clarkson Slammed For Being The Worst Olympics Commentator

Was it really hard to find anyone else to do the job? That’s what a lot of critics who watched the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony can’t help but wonder as they are slamming Kelly Clarkson for being one of the “worst” commentators ever. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Kelly Clarkson Slammed For Being The Worst Olympics Commentator

Kelly was joined by Peyton Manning and Mike Tirico, but viewers were left less than impressed by the commentary that she had to offer. In fact, many critics believed it was downright horrible and that NBC could have done better.

That’s because Kelly looked as though she was unprepared or didn’t do her homework when it came to the athletes, their sports, even anything that she had to say about the city of Paris. 

Of course, many fans who watched the Olympics certainly did have a lot to say about Kelly and her lack of good commentary during the opening ceremony.

Some even said on social media, “Kelly needed to drop her wow and cool slang speech and offer more commentary on the performances, athletes, architecture, landmarks, etc.”

“It was almost like she didn’t prep or do her homework. She behaved like she was visiting Paris for the first time. She very well may have.”

Another critic wrote, “Where was OG Bob Costas? Hes always been the voice of the Olympics to me. I’ve been watching him since Barcelona 1992!”

2024 Olympics: Did Kelly Really Do That Bad?

“Truly miss Mr. Costas, not sure if it was the “pink eye” fiasco that hurt his chances of hosting the Olympics. I’d endure watching Bob’s pink eye than hearing Clarkson’s voice.”

And then there was this comment as well, “To be honest this Opening Ceremony may have been the worst I have ever watched for a myriad of reasons. All the commentators were pretty terrible. Peyton can be a commentator for football but this.”

“I really felt sorry for him because he does a good job in the right spot. Kelly??? I like her but she was way out of her depth.”

So far Kelly Clarkson herself has made no comments about the matter.
