According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Ron Carlivati is leaving the show! He has been the Head Writer for the last seven years.

DOOL released a statement to the press that said, “Days of our Lives is announcing today that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the daytime drama’s new head writers beginning immediately.”

“As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will be departing the show after seven years.”

“Episodes written by Carlivati will air through April 2025 due to the show’s unique tape to air schedule.”

As many DOOL fans already know, the soap is filmed six months ahead of time.

Of course, many viewers of the show had a lot to say about this sudden change on social media.

Some even commented with, “Wishing this might keep Ari Zucker!!! I have watched Days since 1967 and love the character Nicole .. has created over the years she has been featured on the show. Ari Z. brings both comedy and intense drama like no other.”

Another fan wrote, “I think it’s more than the writing. It’s management who let things get out of hand. It’s management who allowed writers to write stories that were irrelevant. Writers brought in many new characters without any connection to the history of DOOL.”

And then there was this comment as well: “As long as it doesn’t hurt the ratings then change is good I really don’t see much change considering they both worked under Ron it may be more about Ari’s suit and exit.”

“I haven’t watched since then, but, even at the end of that time, the stories were going down.”
