Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Bill Hayes’ Last Appearance

Bill Hayes, who passed away in January, will be making his final appearance as Doug Williams on Thursday, July 11-don’t miss this bittersweet farewell to a soap opera legend.

This emotional episode will feature his last scene alongside his onscreen and real-life wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Julie Williams. It’s a beautiful coincidence that this special moment falls on Seaforth-Hayes’ birthday.

Bill has portrayed Doug Williams since 1970, with various ups and downs in the storyline, including onscreen deaths and miraculous resurrections on the mysterious island of Melaswen.

Doug’s journey began as a con man named Brent Douglas, sharing a prison cell with Bill Horton (Edward Mallory), and evolved into a beloved character intertwined with the rich history of Salem.

DOOL Spoilers: Doug And Julie’s Love Story

Doug’s life took a turn after his release from prison. Despite Susan Martin’s (Denise Alexander) initial resistance to his charm, she saw an opportunity to use him to her advantage.

She offered him money to have an affair with Julie, hoping to come between her and Scott Banning (Dick Billingsley). Eventually, Susan realized her mistake and called off the deal, but it was too late.

By the end of 1970, Doug had found a new job as a singer and had fallen in love with Julie. Their love eventually led to a physical relationship, and Doug even discussed the possibility of marriage if Julie left Scott Banning.
