General Hospital (GH) fans are getting vocal about Mayor Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) new glow up. If you haven’t noticed, her hair has switched from long and blond to a shorter feathered look in a darker shade. Let’s face it though, any hairstyle would look fabulous on the GH vet Genie Francis.
But on another note, the audience isn’t thrilled with the new direction Laura is taking. Here’s what to know.
After GH shared a pic of Francis on X a fan wrote “Compliments to hairstyling. Everyone has looked even more beautiful than ever and I’ve noticed subtle changes to hairstyles that are very flattering.”
Another wrote “Genie is so beautiful, love her hair” while one person added “Genie is so beautiful, love her hair.” Alluding to the dislike of her current storyline, one person said “Laura might have lost her mind but her hair looks great in that picture.”
The storyline causing heartburn among fans has to do with Heather Webber (Alley Mills). Heather has been a first class villain for decades, and Laura and Heather have a colorful history as well.
Right now Laura is investigating whether or not the justice system should revisit her crimes. Heather is in Pentonville for a lifetime of misdeeds but a medical diagnosis may be her get out of jail free card.
It was recently discovered that Heather had metalosis from a leaky hip replacement. The poisoning can lead to erratic behavior, thus the question is being asked: Was Heather in her right mind when she committed her crimes?
One fan wrote: “Laura is going to find herself back in the muppet wing with this idiotic story redemption for Heather.” Another chimed in: “Doing Genie Francis dirty.”
Fans aren’t the only ones outraged by this plot, other characters have protested to Laura. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) are livid that the woman who victimized their daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) could go free, and on the June 13 episode Trina confronted Laura.
This week Laura seemed gobsmacked that her actions could set Heather free, and fans protested that Laura is not normally this stupid. Tell us what you think about Laura’s behavior GH fans!

I think nothing whatsoever of Laura on the show! This high and mighty attitude of hers and stupid stupid stupid storyline about Heather is so so horrible and I am sick of it already! Why is Heather even on the show yet!!! Is this all the writers can come up with!!! Also tired of the baby story!!! Can't we get more professional good storylines anymore instead of this junk! This is pitiful!!!
