In April, Annika opened up about her personal struggles. In the past year, Annika broke up with her fiance but has managed to find love all over again. But it hasn’t been easy for her. 

Luckily, she says that the work she does on the hit CBS soap has given her the stability that she’s needed. 

Annika says that when she found out that she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, it felt like “sunshine after the storm.” 

In February, Annika shared a black-and-white polaroid with her new boyfriend, actor John Patrick Medori. If he looks familiar, that’s because he is. He is best known for his role as Gabe Mitchell in the Netflix series, “Dear White People.” 

While there’s no doubt that a lot of people either agree or disagree with some of the things that Hope Logan has said or done on the small screen, it’s not like the character’s portrayer has anything to do with what direction Hope is going in.

The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Annika Had To Defend Herself

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Annika had to explain to her fans when one social media follower back in October slammed Annika and called her a hypocrite for standing up for women’s rights when Hope doesn’t really do the same in front of the cameras. 

That’s when Annika went off. She began by writing, “I’m a professional actor who is paid to say what is written for me in a script and promote such work. Rain or shine. Whether or not we agree with the story or our character’s choices.”
