The First Lady of Nigeria has thrown some serious shade towards Meghan Markle. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have thought that they had a successful trip to Nigeria, but their critics seem to think otherwise.
That’s because a lot of people are criticizing the Duchess of Sussex for disrespecting the culture of Nigeria. A lot of people couldn’t help but throw her some shade for some of the stuff that she wore that showed off a little too much skin.
And if there’s one person who is none too pleased about it, it’s the First Lady of Nigeria herself.
Nigerian President Reno Tinubu’s wife, Oluremi Tinubu, seemed to throw some major shade towards the Duchess of Sussex when she said, “Why did Meghan come here looking for Africa?”
If that weren’t enough, she also slammed Hollywood’s culture of nakedness.
It goes without saying that many royal fans and critics alike sure did sound off on the matter on social media.
Some comments included, “Exactly why the president and First Lady did not greet them. They knew that entire visit was about that couple and not the interest of the Nigerian people. Then she disrespected them by coming in there walking around half naked and bra less in front of children.”
Another critic wrote, “Why should any decent Nigerian, or African girl think this is proper conduct. This is why Meghan Markle faced serious backlash for dressing skimpy and out of tune with Nigerian culture!”
And then there was this comment as well, “How embarrassing for Meghan! She thought she was still in California and didn’t respect the country she was visiting. She really wore awful outfits there.”
So far Meghan Markle herself has made no comments about the criticism that she’s received although at this point it’s doubtful that she will.
