While there’s no doubt that their onscreen characters Jason Morgan and Sam McCall did heat up the small screens with their incredible chemistry, a lot of people can’t help but wonder if they were heating things up off screen, too. Of course, that’s mostly because Steve has spent the majority of his adult life married to his ex Sheree Burton while Kelly has been in numerous relationships in the past, including her other General Hospital co-star, Billy Miller.

That said, Steve has made it no secret that he has truly loved working with Kelly over the years. He once told Soap Opera Digest, “Everybody knows that I have the utmost respect for Kelly Monaco. We worked together for so long. We worked together every day for, like, eight years, and we created something awesome, for sure. There is no doubt about it.”

And while Kelly Monaco is someone who likes to stay incredibly quiet about her personal life, she did tell SOD in October 2023, “With Steve, our natural chemistry together as actors translated really well on screen, and everyone — the writers, the producers, the directors, and the actors — worked to be able to form that unconditional love that the characters had for each other.”

In other words, these two are just keeping all their passion for one another in front of the cameras, and that’s it.
