The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) is knee-deep in Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) dissociative identity disorder (DID) storyline.

Alan is Ashley’s therapist friend from Paris. After getting an alarming phone call from Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Alan has shown up in Genoa City to observe Ashley.

However, the actor just confirmed that his stint as Alan has been extended. This is great news as fans are already trying to play matchmaker with Christopher Cousins’ character on Y&R!

Ashley Abbott’s DID Story

Y&R spoilers reveal that Ashley is suffering from DID. While Ashley’s alters have been taking over, her loved ones have for the most part, remained clueless.

However, Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) knew something wasn’t right with Ashley. Tucker tried to alert Traci, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and even Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) about Ashley’s mental health crisis. However, that didn’t go over so well.

Moving forward, more of Ashley’s alters are coming out. Fans seem to enjoy the Southern Belle. The one that is the most concerning is Ms. Abbott, who wants Tucker dead and even considered framing Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) for the crime.

Y&R Spoilers: Alan Laurent’s Determination

Alan was just stopping in Genoa City since it was on the way to a conference elsewhere. Traci lucked out on her timing. However, Alan is retired and doesn’t practice psychiatry anymore. The longer that Alan sticks around, the more worried he becomes about Ashley.

Christopher Cousins’ Stint Extended

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Cousins talked to Soaps In Depth about his stint. The actor confirmed that Alan will be sticking around Genoa City for a bit longer.

“No, they’re keeping me on, which I’m very grateful for. I don’t know for how long or what, but I’m doing at least some episodes through May, it looks like. I don’t know what I can say about that, so I won’t say anything.”

Smart man.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Working With Eileen Davidson

The actor previously told Soap Opera Digest that the Y&R gig fell in his lap. Cousins explained that he couldn’t leave town for the summer, and this job was just handed to him. So, it worked out beautifully. Cousins and Davidson seem to be having a great time filming this storyline together.

As for whether Alan will be given a love interest, some fans think that he’s actually pretty perfect for Ashley. Others suggest that Alan might be a good fit for Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). Considering how Tucker can’t seem to stay out of Ashley’s orbit, we think it would be fun for Audra to go after Alan!
