She will never be forgotten. General Hospital star Laura Wright, who is best known for her role as Carly Corinthos on the hit ABC soap, recently opened up about filming Bobbie’s funeral scenes on the show. As many fans know, Bobbie was played by actress Jackie Zeman, who passed away last year. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
During a Coastal Entertainment event in Long Island, the soap star opened up about how emotionally difficult it was to film Bobbie’s death. For the actress, Jackie Zeman was just as important to her offscreen as Bobbie was for her daughter Carly on screen. The actress put it this way, “We shot all of the episodes within four days. Everything…I don’t know, nine episodes, which is good when you do those kinds of heavy scenes, then you’re not spreading it out for a couple weeks. As intense and difficult as it was, it was done in four days, but I think everyone felt it, took it home the whole week.”
Laura continued, “We knew it was going to be heavy. And we were talking about this yesterday, the funeral for Bobbie…when you walked on set, it was about Jackie. Her photo was up, the cast that was there and any other time that you would be doing anything with a cast like that, Jackie would’ve been there. So she was in spirit. When we all left work that day, there was a beautiful rainbow outside. So it was a really special day.”
There’s no doubt that everyone that works on the cast of General Hospital misses Jackie Zeman to this very day. Life in Port Charles just isn’t the same without her.
