He even put it on a t-shirt! General Hospital comings and goings say that we’ve got exciting news for fans! That’s because actor John J. York, who is best known for his role as Mac on the hit ABC soap, has announced that he’s returning to the show. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
General Hospital made the announcement by sharing several new photos of John outside the ABC studious of the show alongside some of his favorite co-stars like John Kelly and Kristina Wagner. Some fans even commented on the pics with, “so happy John York is back, so glad he’s doing well. Mac has definitely been missed,” along with, “YAY!!!!!!! (I want one of those T-shirts!!!)This is just so FABULOUS!!!!!”
Another fan wrote, “So happy to see you John. So happy to see Kristina as well! Hopefully with John back, we will see a good storyline with Felicia/Mac/Cody & get Cody’s paternity settled once & for all!”
As many fans of the show know, John is a General Hospital legend as he began appearing on the show back in 1983. The youngest of six children, he was born in Chicago in 1958. Along with his work on daytime television, he’s also appeared on the network television shows Werewolf, Drake and Josh Go Hollywood and in Wizards of Waverly Place. Unfortunately, John was hit with a major health blow in late 2022. The actor was diagnosed with two blood and bone marrow disorders. He also has multiple smoldering myeloma. He underwent a stem cell transplant in December and admitted that he has a long road ahead of him. He told his fans on social media, “Hopefully, hopefully, if things go the way they are, maybe [I’ll] be back on the show late spring, early summer.”
His fans are so happy to see him back in action!
