Lately, it seems the only time Sharon is seen is to give a psychiatric referral or to share some words of wisdom. Could the character be “resting” due to a fiery, rollercoaster new storyline for SHaron? Could Sharon’s bipolar symptoms crop back up? Y&R spoilers reveal that Sharon had a front-burning storyline featuring Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby). After Cameron was killed off, Sharon ended up going into business.

Now, Sharon already had a coffeehouse, but ended up putting that in Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) hands. Meanwhile, we haven’t seen much of her. 

Sharon gave the Abbott family some referrals for Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) dissociative identity disorder (DID). Sharon also helped advise Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Sharon’s bipolar disorder hasn’t been an issue for many years. However, Sharon is overdue for a fresh storyline and a front-burning one.

Sharon has her own mental health history and it could be time for it to resurface. With so many other characters going through addiction or mental health issues, the timing seems right.

Character Rests & Front-Burning Storylines

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that fans are pretty ticked off that Sharon hasn’t been seen in a while. However, after a big story arc like Cameron Kirsten, characters are often taken off canvas for a bit to “rest.” This is a rest for the characters as well as a rest for the actors.

Front-burning storylines can go on for several months and that’s a whole lot of dialogue. Afterward, actors might enjoy the rest while the light shines on some of the other characters for a while.

However, it’s now time for Sharon to shine once again.
