It’s just not going to happen. As much as Prince Harry was hoping to see his father King Charles during his very short trip to the UK this week, the Duke of Sussex has confirmed that the monarch is “unfortunately too busy” to see him. You’d think that he would have at least 45 minutes available for some high tea and biscuits in the afternoon, right? Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Prince Harry has confirmed the heartbreaking news that his father King Charles is too busy to see him in London. In a statement that the Sussexes released to Page Six, it said, “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program.”
And while Prince Harry has every reason to feel upset over his father’s response or lack of effort in trying to squeeze a little time in for his younger son, the internet doesn’t seem to be surprised about this at all. Some have even commented on social media with, “Good! Who needs the Sussex drama. Harry is using KCIII for free PR. If he really wants to connect with his father, let him visit privately, without alerting the press,” along with, “Why would Charles want to make time to see Harry given the way Harry has treated him and the rest of the family? Harry is basically lost to them as long as he is unable to see the damage of what he’s done. Harry also can’t be trusted to talk about any potential meeting they might have had.”
Another critic wedded, “Harry and Meghan have basically spent years dripping poison into each others ears about the royal family (and the Middleton family) and the end result is gruesome twosome seeing Harry’s family as enemies, competitors, and people whose position and lifestyle they still covet.”
