And while there’s no truth to those rumors, a lot of people can’t help but wonder if the Duchess of Sussex herself might have stirred up the rumor just to generate some publicity for her Netflix project. While reports have confirmed that Meghan Markle is not filming her Netflix show on a California cannabis farm, a lot of people can’t help but wonder how this rumor even began. One source close to the situation even put it this way, “The show is not filmed on or near any cannabis farm,” while also adding, “anything that suggests otherwise is made up fodder.”

And while there were some reports suggesting that Meghan was going to film her show on property owned by the cannabis-supplying Van Wingerden family in the nearby seaside city of Carpinteria, that’s not the case at all. But knowing how Meghan Markle operates, there’s a very good chance that she might have stirred up the rumors herself just to get people talking about her show. It’s worked in the past, so of course Meghan knew that it would work again this time around, too.

Of course, the Duchess of Sussex hasn’t made any comments about the matter but that hasn’t stopped any of her critics from speculating about her motives. Meghan knows that she needs all the publicity she can get. And if she’s not going to film a cooking show on a cannabis farm now, there’s also the chance that she might do it sometime in the future. A lot of people would definitely tune in before they would start tuning out.
