General Hospital spoilers claim fans were shocked on Friday when Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) seemed to emotionally curl up into the fetal position and fork her husband over to Ava Jerome (Maura West), accepting defeat.
Was Ava’s suggestion that Nina admit to herself she only saw what she wanted to see in Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) all of this time actually taken on board?
What provoked Nina to make such a mature decision to let go of what was no longer serving her, much the same way she did with the Metro Court Hotel?
Are we finally seeing Nina evolve a bit and stop her cycle of self-sabotage, or is this just the beginning of the next leg of her revenge war?
Giving her half of the hotel back to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) by way of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) didn’t really bother Nina at all. She made good money off of the sale of a career she no longer had time or serious passion for.
Besides, she was eyeing the real prize. To her, the value of unloading that hotel wasn’t the check in the bank but the look she expected to see on Sonny’s face when he realized the lengths she went to in order to make peace and right her wrongs.
When Sonny blew up instead and reality set in that Ava had played her, Nina seemed to crumble under pressure and cave on other fronts — like her marriage.
Conceding to the divorce and signing the papers for Ava — of all people — to take back to Sonny, left Nina in the position of a very sore loser.
Fans are wondering if there is a reason Nina sent Ava packing with those papers. She may not have seen a way out right now fighting to keep her marriage intact merely by fighting to dissolve it.
As long as Ava has Sonny’s ear over Nina, she isn’t going to win the fight. Ava has been setting the stage for months now and Nina was oblivious to it — until now.
Nina might have realized contesting the divorce wouldn’t paint her in a better light, but having Ava be the one who comes back to Sonny with the signed papers certainly could.
Might she truly just be letting go of what doesn’t serve her and hoping Sonny comes back to her if it’s meant to be?
Some of the fans haven’t exactly been a fan of Nina’s behavior in recent years. While she’s always been known to look out for number one and spiral anytime she doesn’t get her way, Nina’s continued game of revenge has grown stale — especially as it has hurt many people most fans love far more than they’ve ever liked Nina.
Moreover, few can stand how much Nina never seems to see herself as anything more than a victim when she is the one who continues to punish herself. Is Nina finally ready to take the high road and grow up?
The fans love that idea, especially if she’s going to come out on top making it look like Ava is the petty one bent on revenge and getting away with her own agenda.
If Nina finally moves on from her vendettas, she just might be able to settle the score with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) in the near future. Where might that leave her with Sonny? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.

Oh I loved it when Nina gave the divorce papers to Ava. Then she went to Carly and told her she was moving on w everything that’s connected to Sony. What I didn’t like was Nina telling Carly how she lost the hotel and reminding Carly she was going to get the hotel back on her own. That was a low blow! She can’t just seem to stay on that high road. I would love Nina to find someone to truly love her and not Valentine since he’s corrupt himself but someone who will cherish her. Nina has a lot of good qualities and I’d like to see those come out more. One thing about her she’s a fighter! Her and Carly are alike in that way.
