For anyone who has been paying attention to Hope Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful, they will know that Hope Logan certainly isn’t the same person that she was before. And if there’s one person who is very familiar with her journey and how much she’s even changed in this past season, it’s the character’s portrayer, Annika Noelle. Here’s what she has to say about it.
Speaking to Soaps.com in a new interview, Annika said that she submitted a reel of herself for this year’s 51st Annual Daytime Emmys to show Hope and all of the changes that she’s made this past year. She’s certainly not the naive woman that she was before as she definitely knows what she wants and who she wants for that matter.
Annika said, “I wanted to show the evolution of Hope Logan. Going from her denial about her feelings for Thomas and saying that she’d never be anything like her mother, then cutting to Liam confronting Hope about her infidelity and Brooke [Katherine Kelly Lang] catching her and Thomas in bed together. Ultimately, she kind of comes into her own and finds her own strength, essentially calling Liam’s bluff and saying, ‘You want a divorce? Here’s your divorce!’”
The actress continued, “I really wanted to show her evolution from a girl into a woman. I was just excited to get the opportunity to play different aspects of this character. I also got to paint with some different colors in the palette that I have as an actor and show some different shades and levels of what I can do. I jumped at the chance, and I’m just thrilled that they trusted me with it!”

I have mixed feelings about Hope's "evolution". I'm glad the writers have made her less naive, and that they had her owning up to her feelings for Thomas, and standing up for herself. I'm also glad she gave Liam the divorce ge asked for. At the same time, I'm disappointed that they seem to be trying to make her more like Brooke. Examples: Her jumping into bed with Thomas before she and Liam were divorced.Also it seems that she's going to go after Finn now. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that they're trying to make her like Brooke, and also repeat the same stupid pattern with her and Steffy that they did with Brooke and Taylor: both of them being with the same men, even one going after him while he's still with the other. I like Hope being more assertive and less naive, but I hope the writers don't take away her caring heart and principles and/or make her promiscuous.
