The Bold and the Beautiful Star Katherine Kelly Lang Is Just As Shocked As Everyone Else

The Bold and the Beautiful star Katherine Kelly Lang is just as shocked as everyone else when it comes to her nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards. The actress is best known for her role as Brooke Logan on the hit CBS soap. Here’s what she has to say about it!

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Katherine opened up about the episodes that she submitted for consideration. She said, “I submitted when Brooke goes to confront Taylor about our supposed friendship because we have been enemies for so long. And then we became friends and I realized that it wasn’t real. I mean, she really, down deep, still just wanted to get to Ridge and take him away from me.”

KKL continued, “So it was Brooke going over to confront Taylor, and it was two whole shows of that. It had a nice momentum and a nice little arc. And then Ridge comes in in the end and we kind of finalize it then and there, and that was it. That was the end of the friendship of Brooke and Taylor. It was fun. It was definitely something different, I think, for Brooke to be able to explore that.”

Katherine says that she found out about her nomination when her publicist Eva called her. The actress just happened to be riding her horse in the mountains. She recalled, “I was on my horse, riding in the mountains. And so, of course, I had to get off the horse [while] I talk on the phone because it’s dangerous to be on the phone. I got off and took the call and then all these people were calling and texting. After I talked to Eva and was very excited about the news, I had to talk to my honey [longtime boyfriend Dominique Zoida]. So I called him and I said, ‘I think I just got nominated.’ I still couldn’t believe it. I was kind of in shock.”
