If this sounds familiar, it’s because it certainly is. The Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore has some exciting news to share. That’s because his CBS primetime show, SWAT, has managed to avoid cancellation as it will be coming back for an eighth season. How exciting! Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Shemar shared the exciting news on his Instagram account when he wrote, “SWAT FAM!!!!!! The dream continues all because of YOU the FANS!!!! We love y’all and wouldn’t be here without your continued love and support!!! Thank you to @cbstv and @sptv for believing in us !! Season 8 here we come!!! FILL THE GAPS …. Let me hear say the rest Fam!!!”
This time last year, Shemar had experienced the same rollercoaster ride of emotions when he was worried that SWAT was going to be canceled. In May 2023, he wrote, “I got sunglasses on cuz I’m a little bit sad. I’m a lot of bit sad. We got canceled, S.W.A.T., S.W.A.T. got canceled. It makes no sense. Look up the articles, read the articles. We are the best shows at Friday night at 8 for CBS. The last two years we have been killing it, us and the fire show…the fire show that comes on right after us, and respect to those brothers and sisters.”
Luckily, it didn’t take long at all for him to retract the news when CBS announced that SWAT would be coming back for a seventh season. It’s safe to say that this show is always saved by the bell! With that said, there’s no doubt that fans would love to see Shemar make a surprise appearance in Genoa City. After all, the man has always been very proud of his daytime television roots. Someone needs to make it happen and call the producers of The Young and the Restless right away!

Never liked Shemar and hope he does not return to Y&R. He is not needed.
