Michelle Obama is one of the most popular figures in both the celebrity and political worlds so much so that the Democratic party wanted her to replace Joe Biden as the new nominee for this year’s presidential election. But the former First Lady made it clear that she wants nothing to do with politics and that she’s not interested in picking up the keys to the White House again. Apparently, there might be a good reason for it. A lot of people believe that Michelle doesn’t want to compromise her lifestyle for the presidency, but instead she might have declined the offer to run simply because she wants to save her marriage to Barack Obama. Being married is surely no walk in the park and being married in the political spotlight is even harder. As president of the United States, Barack Obama had to make a lot of sacrifices in his marriage and his family life in order to lead the country. He did it for eight years of his life and knows how stressful it is to try and keep things together in his personal life without allowing the country to fall apart. He’s been there, done that, and never wants to go there again.
That might be one of the reasons why Michelle Obama told the Democratic party that she’s not interested in running, even though she might be their only hope in beating Donald Trump. Luckily, her marriage to Barack Obama survived his eight years in office, but they might not survive her four to eight years as president. That’s why she made the difficult choice to tell her party, her fans, her supporters and the country that her answer was no. Now, whether or not she changes her mind, remains to be seen.
