According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Steve has every reason to worry about John remembering his past as The Pawn and whether or not he played a role in Chatharina’s death. Actor Stephen Nichols, who plays Steve on the hit Peacock soap, tells the publication in a new interview, “When Ava mentions that, ‘We’ve all done things… things we’re not proud of,’ John responds with, ‘Really bad things.’ Steve sees how haunted John is and wonders if John is recalling what happened with Konstantin all those years ago, when he was The Pawn.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers say that if that weren’t enough, Steve also feels guilty about his own part in the fact that he helped Clyde escape prison. It just makes the situaiton between everyone even worse, if not also very dangerous. He put it this way, “Steve knows that with Clyde on the run, both he and John are in a dangerous position, if Clyde decides to tell the authorities who was responsible for breaking him out of prison. Steve considers drastic measures.”

Stephen added, “Steve is concerned because he knows John’s anger about having broken Clyde out of prison may be compounded by his guilt about Catharina, though Steve is unsure if John has any memory of it.”
