They might look like they are the worst of political enemies now as Hilary Clinton perhaps would never want to speak to Donald Trump, let alone ever be in the same room as him, but it wasn’t always this way. In fact, there was a time that Hilary and Donald were so close that the Clintons were actually invited to Donald’s wedding to Melania Trump back in 2005. And yes, they were close enough that they even took plenty of photos together during the reception. This has prompted a lot of people to wonder what led to the tragic details of Hilary and Donald’s friendship. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump used to be close enough friends so much so that Hilary and her husband Bill made it onto the guest list for Donald and Melania Trump’s glitzy wedding at their Mar-A-Lago estate back in 2005. It’s safe to say that if that same wedding would have happened today, Hilary and Bill would probably skip it altogether. That’s because things just haven’t been the same between Donald and Hilary ever since they battled it out during the 2016 presidential campaign, which the former New York businessman had won.
Yet, back in 2005, Donald had nothing but positive things to say about Hilary at the time, which has come as a shock to his political fans and critics alike. Speaking about Hilary, Donald said, “I think she’s been through more than any woman should have to bear, everything public. I mean, women go through this on a private basis and can’t take it. She’s on the front page of every newspaper every week with what went on in Washington. I think she’s a wonderful woman.”
He then continued, “Hillary is a very smart woman, very tough woman. That’s fine, but she’s also a very nice person. And I know Hillary and I know her husband very well. They are fine people.”
That said, the Clintons did not invite Donald Trump to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010, so something must have happened between that year and 2005. So far Hilary Clinton has not made any comments about the matter.
