General Hospital Comings and Goings: Steve Burton’s Return As Jason Is Finally Here

General Hospital comings and goings reveal the return of Steve Burton as a presumed-dead Jason Morgan makes his way back to Port Charles.

Steve Burton left GH in 2021 after Disney/ABC (which owns General Hospital) issued a mandate calling for all employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine or be terminated. Burton chose not to get the vaccine and left the show amicably, unlike Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax), who sued Disney and lost.

Steve Burton Is Back

Burton then returned to his first soap in his first soap role as Days of our Lives’ Harris Michaels. Burton wrapped up taping on DAYS in December, but will still air for the next few months considering the show’s large taping lead. He announced his return to GH on January 4 and will finally be on screen on Monday, March 4.

The last time we saw Jason Morgan he was trying to escape Cassadine Island after rescuing Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). He finally figured out how to break Drew’s tarot card spell but then an explosion happened in the tunnels and Jason was buried under the rubble.

Where Has Jason Morgan Been?

Despite no body ever being found, Jason was once again declared dead and the only person who even seemed to care was Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) heard the news and then had sex with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), showing how much she really cared. Even Sonny was more concerned with his confused life after his own return from the dead to muster up too much sadness.

Not long before his latest alleged death, Jason had married Carly but they got a quick annulment when Sonny returned on their wedding night. Carly is now with Drew, but we bet she drops him like a hot potato as soon as she sees Jason alive.

As for Sonny, he hs a new enemy in his life taking out mobsters with bullets. The person calls himself Stone and is supposed to be a “ghost”. Who wants to bet that Stone is for Stone Cold and Sonny realizes that Jason is the one after him? With Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) helping him find the person, that seems like the only logical choice.
