The Young and the Restless alum Michael Muhney has sparked some major concern over a troubling tweet that he shared on X this week. It seems like he completely wants to disappear from social media, prompting a lot of fans to wonder what might be going on. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
On Thursday, Michael took to his X account to write to his fans, “Permanently deactivating my account. Twitter is my only source of social media so I’m basically going off the grid. Be well folks, live good lives,” before adding, “This is all due to my previous tweet. The Freemasons and the International Order of Recorders are more powerful than I imagined.”
This came soon after he also tweeted, “Why is there a mass conspiracy playing out over generations of Americans whereby we all have to learn to play the Recorder as kids and then grow up only to never hear from that instrument ever again, in any song or movie. Like ever.”
Many of his social media followers commented on his tweet with, “Please don’t leave!! It’s my way and your fans way to still keep in touch with you and follow what’s going on in your career and your life in general. Please reconsider for your fans and me,” along with, “This makes me so sad. I haven’t been on lately due to some deaths in my family and my son’s terminal illness. I will miss you and always love you. You are still the best Adam Newman ever.”
Another fan wrote, ‘Aww, just to let you know one last time that you are and always will be Adam Newman to me even though I don’t watch soap operas for a while anymore. I was so happy to be hearing from you again. I hate to see you go. You were the BEST Adam Newman on Y&R.”

Michael Muhney, please don’t drop out of society the way others have. It is the worst thing to do when you are not happy with the way you and your life is going right now. Fight to get your life back together again just to see what is out there for you right now. People care, I care. Have you made amends for everything you were blamed with. Sorry, it has been so long since what ever happened. That is what is wrong with show biz and society, some people skate through until they just can’t get past another time. Other people, slam, you are condemned and no one can talk to you without being thrown under the bus with you.
