Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump were supposed to be the dynamic duo that Donald Trump could count on both inside the White House and out. But that never happened. It seemed like the First Lady and the First Daughter had spent more time apart than together during Trump’s first term, prompting a lot of people to wonder what was really going on between them behind closed doors. Melania once said that she never intended to be her stepchildren’s mother. Instead, she was the kind of supportive mother-in-law that Ivanka and her brothers Don Jr and Eric’s birthday parties, graduations, and other celebrations. She didn’t want to interfere with their upbringing at all as they already had their own mother, Donald’s first wife, Ivana Trump.
That said, some people were hoping to see Ivanka and Melania on the campaign trail together or doing joint interviews. But again, that never happened. There was speculation that Ivanka didn’t want to share the spotlight with her mother-in-law. If that weren’t enough, Ivanka supposedly believed that she deserved more of a ‘First Lady’ role even though that belonged to the wife of the president of the United States, and not the daughter.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Melania couldn’t help but give Ivanka the stink eye whenever she came into close proximity to her in public. As much as they tried to hide their disdain for each other, the truth always came out in their body language in one way or another.
For Melania, it probably feels like a relief that Ivanka wants no part in her father Donald Trump’s bid for reelection. Instead, she wants to focus on the celebrity circuit instead. That sigh that everyone just heard clearly came from Melania at Mar-A-Lago as she doesn’t have to worry about competing for attention with her daughter-in-law anymore.

Melania is not her Mother in law rather Step Mother
As a journalist it would be a good idea to understand the difference between step mother and mother-in-law. Using them interchangeably does not give me confidence in your reporting.
That's quite a number of times of calling a stepmother a MIL and the step-daughter a DIL. Together with some other gibberish in the article has me thinking this writer is very inexperienced and partially schooled and likely speaks English as a second language.
Yeah besides you don't know the difference between mother-in-law and stepmother, you're just trying to come up with a bunch of bull crap stirring up discontent because you're soap site. Shame shame shame!
Melania is her step mother. Ivanka was well spoken. Melania needed help as first Lady. Melania didn't seem happy or approved by the general public.
