General Hospital spoilers say that Eva La Rue is joining the cast of Port Charles as Blaze’s mother, Natalie Rogers- Ramirez, but it seems like fans are split about her character and storyline. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Natalia arrives at a critical time in her singer-daughter’s life: Blaze is in the early stages of a romance with Kristina (played by Daytime Emmy winner Kate Mansi). It’s been previously established that one of the reasons Blaze has kept her sexual orientation under wraps is because she fears her coming out could have negative career implications. She also hinted that there could be blowback from her family.
Of course, many General Hospital fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some have taken to X to weigh in with comments such as, “Great actress but it seems it’s just for the Blaze plot. Unless she clicks with the new writers. And yes, having her in as AMC’s Maria would’ve been nice,” along with, “I’m nervous about this storyline. I’m not here for the characters pandering to someone who uses her religion to justify her bigotry, cherry picking which parts of their religion they want to clutch their pearls about while not following the others. Anyone who puts their (nonsensical) beliefs ahead of the happiness and welfare of their children does not deserve any sympathy, empathy or understanding.”
Another General Hospital fan wrote, “I like Eva, but I don’t have much hope that the writing for her character will be good. They waste so many talented folks on this show. Blaze is just so lukewarm. She’s got no personality. Investing in her character seems like a waste. I still don’t care about the recasts Molly and Kristina! I can already see Eva scenes with Kristina yelling that the mother needs to accept her daughter and Blaze yelling Mami accept me for who I am and blah blah blah. I’ve seen these scenes before.”

Maybe if this wasn't such a huge problem still today, after decades of fighting against this bigotry, it wouldn't be necessary to keep repeating the message. People need to stop telling others how to live and who to love ❤️. It's not their issue to be involved in, but still today our elected leaders push people to stick their noses where they don't belong 🤔
Not too sure about adding EL to canvas as Blaze's mom. Hopefully it will add more to canvas than the same, same old expected topics. She is definitely a good actress as with most of the GH staff, but hope the material given meets her ability to act the role successfully.
