Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans are still shocked over this week’s turn of events. Looks like Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker-DiMera) isn’t only out on the soap, but she’s launched a wrongful dismissal legal suit against Corday Productions, Executive Producer, Ken Corday, and former Executive Producer, Albert Alarr.
Unfortunately, Arianne’s days are numbered on the show, but does this mean Nicole’s are, too?
DOOL spoilers reveal that Arianne has been playing Nicole Walker since 1998. Other than a couple of years between 2006 and 2008, the actress has been with the show consistently and has become one of the top stars in the daytime drama.
In fact, many believe her performances in 2023, after seemingly losing her newborn baby and dealing with the overdose of her daughter Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) should get her (at the very least) a Daytime Emmy nomination, if not the statue itself.
Nicole Walker hasn’t only been a staple character on the show, but she’s taken center stage this past year with her ‘who’s your daddy” storyline.
As Nicole was allegedly fired in late January, this means fans will get to see the rest of the storyline played out, but by around June/July, she’ll likely be gone. What does this mean for the Ericole reunion some fans were looking for?
Fans need to gear up for a Salem without Nicole Walker-DiMera. Not to say that recasting Nicole is completely out of the question; however, some characters cannot be recast, and Nicole is likely one of them.
With only about six months or so left of Nicole’s storyline, it’ll be interesting to see how the character exits, especially with the real-life story that is playing in the background.
Still, while it’s sad to see what reportedly happened on the set of DOOL and Arianne’s claims, the aftermath of this all also means no proper Ericole reunion, something some fans have been waiting for, for what seems like, forever.

I like the character Nicole, I'm just fed up with her being pigeon holed with Eric. I've never been a huge fan of Eric, and his whispering way of speaking! I always wanted to see Nicole be reinvented where she stood on her own. If this show is to survive, ReRunRon needs to GO!! Tired of recycled storylines. "Who is John Black" has been done, overdone! Give us current things! Medical crisis - A BELIEVABLE ONE. Spousal abuse/child abuse - explore fostering, school/workplace shooting. Bring in a whole new family, to add new ideas, like when they brought in all the Hernandez's. Just give us something, to hold our interest again.
Are they absolutely out of their ever loving minds to let Nicole go. OMG Nicole is a staple in DOOL. No one can replace her and the show won’t be the same without her. Do what ever has to be done to keep her.
