General Hospital spoilers say that he’s back and he’s better than ever before. But if fans were expecting to see the old Jason Morgan return, they might be in for a bit of a shock. That’s because according to the character’s portrayer, Steve Burton, fans can expect the unexpected in the coming weeks ahead. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
In his podcast with the Daily Drama, Steve Burton opened up about his character’s homecoming to Port Charles. As many fans can recall, Jason Morgan supposedly died in a horrific cave accident back in 2021. But off screen, Steve was actually let go from the show for refusing to comply with the ABC network’s vaccine mandate at the time. Well, now that he’s back again, fans are eagerly awaiting his character’s return. But it’s one that’s going to turn out to be a shocker.
Steve said, “Stay tuned because they’ve been laying some breadcrumbs right now along the way, and I know what the majority of people think – and it ain’t that!”
But back in January, Steve hinted that his return to the show might not be a permanent one, either. In a new interview with ABC’s Chicago affiliate, Steve suggested that he’s only got a short time left in front of the canvas. He said, “I feel like I have another, I don’t know — it’s a feeling right now and I don’t like to go on feelings all the time — another two or three years of acting.”
That’s certainly not something that fans want to hear as they would love to see him on the show for as long as possible. While a lot can happen in the next two years, having Jason disappear or ‘die’ again would certainly be devastating for the General Hospital fans who love him so much.

I am so sick and tired of these freaking ads covering the story. Nobody wants these stupid ads! We never get to read the story.
