After Daniel posted a video of him staring into his phone, a lot of fans couldn’t help but express concern for the former daytime television actor. Many commented with, “I hope you’re OK. Your eyes look very sad. Please know that millions of us love and adore you. You’re a great terrific actor, wonderful husband, and father,” along with, “Exactly my sentiments very sad eyes hope you are ok. When I’m down you bring me right up. I’m sure you do that for a lot of us. If I had a son I would be happy if he was like you. Much love to you from this old Grandma.”
Another fan wrote, “Hello there Daniel praying all is well with you and the family. You look tired. But I would love to see you back on The Young and the Restless. It seems like you haven’t worked in a very long time. It’s time to come back to the soap world.”
Back in 2021, Daniel hinted that he wanted to return to The Young and the Restless. He recalled that he pleaded with Josh Griffith, the show’s co-executive producer, and head writer, and former executive producer Tony Morina “that there was so much story” for Cane to play after Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) died. Well, fast forward two years later and it seems like no one is willing to continue telling Cane’s story.
That same year Daniel admitted that he auditioned for the role of EJ DiMera on Days of Our Lives. At the time he said that “it was in the works,” but that there was also a catch. He said, “And then there was the situation where Days may not have been picked up, so what happened is it only would have been a four-week commitment.”

I am so tired of the Jack and Diane, the Tucker and Ashley, Nikki recovering again, for goodness sake let's get her recovered, and I am especially tired of seeing Audra in bed with every man she has a conversation with. I would like to see a Cane story line for a change as long as it's not drug out like the other's have.
You are so on point. Drunk Nikki is boring. She plays a good drunk, but it is time to move on. I like the Tucker character, he is so smooth with his mind games.
