Days of Our Lives spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder if Gabi DiMera and Stefan DiMera will ever be reunited again. And while actor Brandon Barash says that he would love to see that happen in the future, it all depends if Camila Banus comes back to reprise her role as Gabi or if a new actor takes over altogether as a recast. Will Camila Banus return to Days of Our Lives to play Gabi DiMera again? That’s what a lot of DOOL fans can’t help but wonder. The actress left the hit daytime television show to work on other projects. She currently has two in the pipeline: Final Heist and The Holiday Exchange.

Back in May of 2023, Camila released a statement about her departure. She said, “There’s definitely been a lot of changes at DAYS the last couple of years, one being moving to Peacock. Although it’s been wonderful and we’ve had a super great reception, for me, I felt like that was kind of like the initial start for changes happening in general. And I kind of just saw that as a sign for me to start the next chapter in my life.” 

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Next For Gabi DiMera?

Camila also explained the real reason behind her departure, and she says it all has to do with her dad. He passed away shortly before she began her soap opera career. In an essay for The Today Show, Camilla opened up about starting a new chapter in her life with the soap when she was just 19. She wrote at the time, “Soon into my time on ‘Days of Our Lives,’ I got the news no one ever wants to receive. I was in the parking lot of a dollar store with my mom, who was on the phone, when she started screaming. On the other line, she learned my dad, her ex-husband, had died by suicide.”
