General Hospital Fans Saddened By Tyler Christopher News

The daytime television community is still mourning the loss of actor Tyler Christopher. He might be gone, but he will never be forgotten. And now that the actor’s official cause of death has been revealed, fans have even more of a reason to grieve the loss of a very talented soap star, father and friend. Tyler passed away in his San Diego home back on October 31. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

General Hospital Fans Saddened By Tyler Christopher News

It was reported by TMZ on Friday that Tyler died of “positional asphyxia due to acute alcohol intoxication.” What’s more, his underlying condition, coronary artery atherosclerosis, also contributed to the actor’s death. The actor left behind two children, Greysun and Boheme. 

Tyler was best known for his role as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital and as Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives. His former General Hospital co-star Maurice Bernard broke the news on his Instagram account. Of course, many daytime television fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some of them commented with, “Made me very sad too. So very many are dealing with horrific addiction. Yes, he was a fabulous actor. But more importantly he was a person, a human being. That struggled. Loved his children. We are all going through something. Kindness really, really matters,” along with, “I have lost loved ones to alcoholism, and let’s not forget Billy and his Bi-Polar question is how do we get adults to get mental health support and more funding for therapists? Adults want to appear strong when they’re struggling. I have faith he’s in a better place.”

And then there was this comment as well, “Sad indeed! Demons are strong sadly his got the best of him. Tyler was an amazing actor. I will remember him as the great Nikolas Cassadine, forever in our hearts! Rest easy Tyler.”
