General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, January 19 tease job insecurity, lucky breaks, and no apology needed. Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) faces job insecurity, Adam Wright’s (Joshua Benard) reminded of his lucky break, and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) thinks no apology’s needed.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) discuss worrisome changes. Sam asks Carly hasn’t she noticed that Drew had changed since he came back from prison?
Drew has become more angry and more impatient and even though assertiveness could be a good thing, with him it’s more aggressiveness.
Sam had a discussion with him recently for changing Scout Cain’s (Cosette Abinante) school without asking either her or Scout, but there’s more than that. Sometimes Drew seems like he’s a volcano about to blow.
In the meantime, Drew is at the office of Crimson Magazine-which happens to be a division of Aurora Media. It looks like he’s trying to either shut down the magazine altogether or fire Nina from running it.
Drew looks shocked as she asks him if he honestly thinks she’s just going to roll over and accept it? If he shuts down the magazine he’ll be firing more than Nina, and who else would take her place if he fires her?
At the hospital, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) tells Adam he’s lucky to be alive, after taking pills and drinking almost a full bottle of vodka.
Adam had attempted suicide to get away from the pressure his parents have been putting on him. He’s lucky to have such a caring, if codependent fixer friend like Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) on his side.
If she hadn’t have found him when she did, he may be in the morgue instead of a hospital room. He was touch and go for a while there as Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) tried to revive him.
Dex is trying to comfort Josslyn as he thinks no apology is needed-he asks her what she has to apologize for? Joss was upset that Adam’s parents had to be called because of hospital protocol and he was upset that she got the school’s counselor involved.
But if it weren’t for her, Adam would have died-she literally saved his life. She can hope that this will be a wake-up call for his parents, or perhaps Adam’s real problem is himself and not his parents at all.
It looks like Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) are in Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) hospital room and Laura is livid.
Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) had come to Cyrus for help to find where Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) took Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay).
Spencer had given the baby to his father after they made up and had a meeting of the minds, and also discussed Esme’s returning memories.
But Laura is livid and panicked over the situation as much as Esme is, crying to Spencer how could he do such a thing? Cyrus appears to have called two people after Esme left, Laura probably one of them and likely asking her to bring Spencer.
Esme has shown up at the Jerome Art Gallery in her desperation, begging Ava Jerome (Maura West) not to kick her out. She asks an obviously skeptical Ava for her help, likely thinking she may know where Nikolas is or has former mob contacts who can find him.
Esme won’t call the police, based on Spencer’s threats to put her back in prison-Cyrus even told her he can’t. Ava’s hatred for Esme will likely override her maternal instincts when Esme tells her Nikolas took her baby, if she believes her at all.
Esme may play hardball and asked her what she’d do if he took Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola)-that’ll hit a nerve!
It looks like Cyrus is alone in his hospital room now as he smiles and tells someone they’re right on time. Perhaps this is a contact that might actually be able to help find Nikolas and the baby.
Cyrus was compassionate to Esme, although she far overestimated his reach, and even he told her the police need to be contacted.
Esme is the custodial parent, not Nikolas, so it is a case of parental kidnapping. Spencer may find himself an accessory to said kidnapping!
