Ever since Queen Elizabeth died last year, life hasn’t been the same for King Charles. He certainly didn’t get the same reception at his coronation as his late mother did when she became the ruling monarch. That’s because there are a lot of people in the UK believe that the monarchy doesn’t hold as much significance today as it did almost 50 years back.

If that weren’t enough, King Charles also has been dealing with the fallout of Prince Harry’s tell-all book, Spare. In the memoir, the Duke of Sussex painted his father as an emotionally absent father who could have used a hug himself. And because the name Jeffrey Epstein just won’t go away, King Charles has also been dealing with all of the negative headlines that Prince Andrew has generated thanks to his association with the dead financier.

And now King Charles has announced that he is being hospitalized for an enlarged prostate. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said, “In common with thousands of men each year, The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure. The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.”
