It looks like they’ve got less celebrity friends than they’ve thought. Hollywood seems to be laughing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle than with them as they were the butt of a few jokes at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards. To make matters worse, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex weren’t even invited to the ceremony either, prompting a lot of people to wonder if their time in the spotlight might be over. Golden Globes host Joy Koy couldn’t help but name drop Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in his opening monologue, but not in a way that they would expect. He couldn’t help but crack jokes at their expense by saying that they are cashing in checks from Netflix for doing absolutely nothing. And of course, the audience laughed. There’s nothing worse than not being in on the joke and that’s probably how the Duke and Duchess of Susssex might have felt if they were watching the ceremony from home.
At this point, it’s safe to say that no one in Hollywood is taking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle very seriously anymore. While there were some reports suggesting that Meghan wanted to go back to acting and that she was also considering directing as well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, either. She hasn’t received any offers and no one is really blowing up her phone, either.
It’s no wonder Prince Harry is so desperate to return to the UK, seeing how he doesn’t think he has a future in California anymore. The only thing he needs to do is convince his wife Meghan to stop trying to fit in with the Hollywood crowd so hard and that they just need to pack their bags and make a beeline for it.
